Quick Installation Checks (Most Common Fix)

Before resetting anything, double-check the physical install:

• Spindle alignment: Ensure the spindle is correctly seated and not binding.
• Cable connection: Confirm the plug between the inner and outer escutcheons is fully inserted. An incompletely seated plug is the most common cause of a “dead” keypad.

After reseating, test the keypad again. If it remains unresponsive, continue below.

Full Factory Reset — Step by Step

1. Remove the battery cover and batteries.
2. Remove the interior escutcheon to access the reset button near the PCB connector.
3. Press and hold the reset button while reinserting the batteries.
4. When you hear the voice prompt say “completed”, release the reset button.
5. The lock is now fully cleared (including the Master Code).
6. Refit the interior escutcheon, but leave the battery compartment open for the next step.

Tip: Keep fresh batteries handy — low voltage can cause inconsistent behaviour during setup.

Register a New Master Code

1. Press the R button (near the batteries).
2. Enter your desired Master Code (6 digits is standard).
3. Tap the gear icon.
4. Re-enter the same PIN, then tap the gear icon again.
5. You now have 5 minutes to pair the lock with the Yale Home app.

While you can add codes manually on the lock, we strongly recommend using the app — it’s easier and offers far more control.
